A CANCER charity wants volunteers to run in this year's New York Marathon.

Marie Curie Cancer Care has 50 places for the November 7 event.

But they are going quickly and anyone interested is advised to register.

Ken Keating, from the charity's internal audit department, who ran in last year's event, said: "It was amazing. You've got to be there to appreciate the crowd."

All the money the charity raises in the event will help to pay for Marie Curie Nurses.

They provide free nursing, to give terminally-ill people the chance to die at home supported by their families.

Anyone interested in running the marathon should ring Jackie or Brian on 0113 2147905.
