A LORRY brought traffic problems to Lockwood.
The articulated vehicle loaded with cheese became wedged across Lockwood Scar yesterday afternoon – forcing police to shut the road for more than two hours.
The driver had turned into Lockwood Scar from Enoch Lane, a tiny, winding road that runs off Whitehead Lane.
He tried to turn the vehicle into the road but it became stuck across the whole carriageway.
Police arranged for a tow-truck and heavy lifting gear to move the lorry late yesterday afternoon.
A lorry was also involved in an accident in Quarmby Road, Quarmby, at lunchtime.
It struck and demolished a lamp-post, but no-one was hurt.
