A SLAITHWAITE hairdressing salon has been transformed from 1960s style TV set to 21st century chic.
Hair stylist Julie Earnshaw, 45, pictured, will open her new shop on Sunday from 2pm.
Mum-of-three Julie, of Linthwaite, bought the shop on Britannia Road in July and renamed it The Salon after a Channel 4 TV show.
When she first saw the shop it was being used as a film set for Granada TV soap Where The Heart Is, which is set in Marsden and Slaithwaite.
Julie wanted to give her dated salon an overhaul and shipped off the old fashioned fittings to Granada TV.
Then her husband Nigel, who works as a designer in Manchester, had a chance meeting with the designers of the Channel 4 salon.
The team - who also created the set for BBC hairdressing drama series Cutting It - offered to design The Salon at Slaithwaite.
Now it boasts hanging mirrors, Italian furniture and glitzy fittings.
