A BAR was ordered to shut after police found remnants of suspected drugs in the toilets and clubbers as young as 15.

Mr G’s Bottle Bar, at Bradford Road, Batley, is now facing an urgent review of its licence after Saturday’s raid.

Police attended after concerns were raised by local residents and parents when an event was advertised to finish at 6am – despite the club’s 4am licence.

Kirklees police’s licensing officer Sgt John McFadzean said: “Checks on social networking sites revealed that this event was widely circulated among youngsters still at school or college. People as young as 15 were found to be present and had been consuming alcohol.

“A search of the female toilets was made and a number of small clear plastic bags were found with the remains of a white powder inside.”

A closure notice was issued banning the sale of alcohol until all the problems are resolved.

A review will be heard before Kirklees Council’s licensing committee.
