YOUNGSTERS from two Huddersfield schools are working together on an arts project.

Children from Mount Pleasant Junior, Infant and Nursery School at Lockwood and Wooldale Junior School worked at Huddersfield Art Gallery to explore cultural diversity.

Pupils worked during Sikh Awareness Week.

Specialist Salma Zaman told them about Bollywood dance while gallery education worker Ami Hallgarth led Indian storytelling sessions.

Teacher Stephanie Bartholet worked with the children on Indian miniature paintings.

The work produced will start a year-long travelling story-book between the two schools.

Andrew Heath- Beesley, school improvement officer, said: "Pupils have made new friends and learned about different cultures and most of all have had fun learning."
