CHILDREN are being urged to put their best feet forward to raise awareness of the dangers of traffic.

On June 20 more than 100,000 pupils will march from their school gates in the annual Giant Walking Bus.

The event is part of Huddersfield road safety charity Brake’s Kids Say Slow Down campaign.

Youngsters from Kirklees to the Hebridean islands take part in the giant march.

The message is to say no to speeding drivers and yes to walking.

The UK has one of the worst death in Europe of children killed on foot, most on their way to or from school.

Half of children are driven to school, increasing pollution and danger.

The charity’s walk also helps raise funds for the charity’s services for road crash victims.

To take part call 01484 559909 or email walkingbus@brake.org.uk

Participants get a giant banner for the front of their march.
