TWO scruffy women used their children to steal from a shop.

The women went into Bottomley and Ramsden opticians on Lidget Street in Lindley just before 3.30pm on Monday.

As they talked to a staff member, the two children were seen to slip into a back office.

They reappeared moments later and left the shop with the women.

The victim later realised a purse had been stolen.

The boy was aged about seven with short dark hair and wore dark clothes.

The little girl was only about three, with brown or blonde hair, and was bruised around her left eye.

Both women were white. One was aged about 40 with dirty blonde shoulder-length hair and misshapen, stained front teeth. She spoke with an Irish accent.

The other woman was in her late 30s and also had scruffy blonde shoulder-length hair.

Anyone who knows who they are should contact Pc Ben Dyer on 01484 436659.
