A VILLAGE park has new additions, including a dinosaur with the head of a burger.

The strange creature is one of 20 pieces of metalwork unveiled at Marsden Park.

Artist Rachel Ellis, who lives in the village, worked with children from Marsden Infant and Nursery School and Marsden Junior School on the project.

The youngsters designed imaginary creatures for the park – including Burgersaurus.

Rachel said: “It was really tough deciding which designs to use as they were all so characterful and quirky.

“This has been such a lovely project to be involved with. The children of Marsden have been involved in every stage of the design and have created something unique for their play area which will spark imaginative fun play and will last for many years to come.”

The imaginary creatures were produced by Simon Calvert Ltd, of Leeds Road.

Visitors can see the artwork during Marsden Park’s Centenary Gala on Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
