A YOUNG community choir is on the lookout for new voices.

True Colours, pictured, is particularly keen to recruit more young male voices.

The choir has 24 children and young people aged between six and 19 years.

The appeal came as the young singers performed a Christmas concert for elderly residents at the Homestead in Almondbury.

The choir grew out of a project called Music Maker at Huddersfield's Hudawi Centre.

It has performed at many events including the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in July 2002.

But the choir has also sung at York Minster, with pop star Heather Small on stage at the Manchester Evening News Arena and with the world-famous Harlem Gospel Choir.

Organiser Natalie Pinnock-Hamilton said: "We want to include children and young people of all races and cultures and are particularly interested in including more boys."

Anyone interested in auditioning can contact Natalie on 01484 303888.
