TICKETS are still available for a concert in aid of a church ravaged by burglars.
Choirs from across Huddersfield will perform together at Huddersfield Town Hall this Sundayto raise funds for repairs to St John’s Church in Birkby.
The building was wrecked when its steeple came crashing down after thieves tried to rip the copper lightning conductors from the roof last July.
About £100,000 is needed to repair the heating system, plastering and decoration and pay for extra security measures, including CCTV.
The event, at 2.30pm, will feature more than 300 performers, including Hade Edge Community Children's Choir, Colne Valley Male Voice Choir, Huddersfield Methodist Choir, Marsh Ladies Choir and the U3A Choir.
