PEOPLE have been asked to provide wood for one of Huddersfield’s biggest bonfires this week.

The huge bonfire opposite the Sands House pub at the top of Blackmoorfoot Road in Crosland Hill will be this Saturday and has been organised by Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table.

Most of the money will go towards the charity’s Christmas Wish campaign run with the Examiner.

Round Table member Alec Jackson said: “We could do with some help setting up and people are asked to drop wood off at the site on Friday and Saturday. We will be building the bonfire on both days.’’

On Bonfire Night car parking has been organised with neighbouring firms and the charge is just £1 per car with the money going to the charity.

The gates open at 5.30pm on Saturday, the bonfire is lit at 6.30pm and there will be a fairground between 5.30pm and 8pm.

l A list of public bonfires in the Huddersfield area will be published in Wednesday’s Examiner.
