Newsome Parish Church Hall has been refurbished with a new kitchen and a new look.

Pam Kent, community worker at the church, said: “We held an official opening of the new kitchen, which has recently been refurbished, along with the whole hall, with grants from Newsome Next Generation and the People’s Purse.

“It was our chance to thank them for giving us this money and invite them in to see what we have done.

“We also wanted the community to see the hall because this is a facility for them to use.

“It was a brilliant day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves,” Mrs Kent added.

Clr Julie Stewart-Turner was at the opening of the Newsome Road South church.

The hall is used regularly for baby clinics, playgroups and dance classes for the young and elderly, as well as private functions.

If you would like to book the hall for a function ring Doreen Scholes on 01484 511 653.
