A DECAYING Scout building is being renovated - with help from a church.

A dozen members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have joined up with the 9th Huddersfield Scout group, based at Crosland Hill, to help the project.

Church organiser Neville Oldham said the building should be fully renovated by the end of autumn.

Mr Oldham said: "Assistant commissioner Philip Hayhurst approached us saying it was in a bad state - so we volunteered to help.

"It's very rewarding and it's nice for the youngsters who need keeping off the streets."
