A WOMAN was today telling a court how she was raped by a teenager in the grounds of Huddersfield Parish Church.

On trial at Bradford Crown Court. is Nathan Johnson, 19, of Park Hill, Bradley.

He is alleged to have raped the 22-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, during the early hours of July 24 last year.

Prosecutor Caroline Wigin told a jury at Bradford Crown Court yesterday how the woman had been out in Huddersfield town centre on a hen party.

She said it was about 3am when the woman and her friend left Johnny's nightclub in Beast Market.

Miss Wigin said the two women were having an argument as they walked along Lord Street and they were spoken to by Johnson and another man.

The prosecution allege that after Johnson and the woman walked up some steps into the grounds of St Peter's Church, he raped her after pinning her against a wall.

After his arrest Johnson, who has denied the rape, told police that the woman consented to sex with him.

The trial continues.
