A NEW church in Huddersfield has won another award for its architecture.
Cathedral House, pictured, at St Thomas’ Road, Folly Hall, is one of 50 projects to receive a Civic Trust Award.
The £14m church, which provides a home to Huddersfield Christian Fellowship, received special recognition from the national panel for its effect on the community and the positive impact on the people its served.
The building, opened last year by the mayor of Kirklees Clr Julie Stewart-Turner, has also won the community project award at the fifth annual Building Excellence Awards run by West Yorkshire’s five local authorities.
The building has a 2,100-seat main auditorium, bookshop, café, modern indoor and outdoor play gym for children and conference facilities.
The awards were presented by Civic Trust Awards Patron, architect and TV presenter George Clarke.
