VINTAGE wagons, cars and buses were on display at a popular Huddersfield rally.

The Vintage Vehicle Show organisers held their seventh annual rally with vehicles from the 1930s taking pride of place.

People of all ages went to the rally at the Springwood car park yesterday.

Organiser Mel Munday, proud owner of two trams and a trolleybus, said: “The Huddersfield rally is the last big rally of the season and we get people coming from all over the country.’’

On display were two Silent Night bed company vans from 1952 which sat alongside a 30s Boden and a Hampshire fire engine from the 60s.

A rally of historic vehicles was also held at the National Coal Mining Museum.

The Historic Commercial Vehicle Society displayed cars and motorcycles from the 1920s to the 1980s at the former Caphouse Colliery near Grange Moor.
