THE body of a man who was allegedly killed in a street attack has been released for his funeral.

An inquest into the death of Peter Brocklesby, 50, was yesterday opened at Bradford Coroners’ Court and immediately adjourned ahead of a crown court trial.

Mr Brocklesby suffered fatal injuries in an altercation outside his Cleckheaton home on May 7. Six people were arrested and one man, Richard Oldroyd, 19, of Great Pond Street, Ravensthorpe, has now been charged with murder.

Det Insp Martin Hepworth told the inquest Mr Brocklesby’s body was not required for any further tests.

Deputy Coroner Prof Paul Marks released Mr Brocklesby’s body for cremation and adjourned the inquest until the conclusion of crown court proceedings.
