A LAP dancing club which shares premises with a Huddersfield casino is trading as normal.

Jason Armitage, owner of Cleopatra’s Lounge, stressed that his business was unaffected by the closure of Casino Red’s Northumberland Street premises.

Cleopatra’s Lounge occupies the basement of the grade II listed building and shares the same entrance as the casino.

The lap dancing club moved to the site from premises at Folly Hall last December.

Casino Red has confirmed that it has ceased trading at the town centre premises.

It originally launched its £5m venue in the former Princess Cinema in November, 2008, but closed amid financial difficulties just eight weeks later.

It was relaunched in 2010 after securing new finance before closing its doors for the second time this week.
