CONSUMER watchdogs have again warned people in Huddersfield about potential clothing 'scams'.

They have alerted householders to leaflets offering to collect old clothing to be donated to the Third World.

But a campaign in the Examiner revealed the clothing ends up in shops and stores, often in Eastern Europe.

Leaflets have recently been distributed in the Moldgreen, Dalton and Springwood areas and readers have alerted people not to fall for the scam.

The leaflets are A5 and say something like 'your clothes will be recycled for people in the Third World'. They add: 'God will reward for your good hearts.'

The latest collection day is Monday.
