SPECIAL late-night buses are to be provided by a Huddersfield nightclub.

The free service starts tomorrow and will be for customers at the Heaven and Hell club at the top of Chapel Hill.

The buses will ferry people to the club from town centre pubs and student accommodation.

The club's parent company, Entrepreneurial Leisure, is providing a fleet of buses for all six of its clubs in response to a report published by the Association of Directors of Social Services.

The association is calling for nightclub bosses to find new approaches and solutions to the problems caused by alcohol.

Peter Clarke, chairman of Entrepreneurial Leisure, said: "The report by the ADSS, written in February 2003, was aimed specifically at late-night venue operators to help ease the problems that are often associated with alcohol.

"Since then we have been racking our brains to see what we could do across our clubs for our customers and our own fleet was the perfect answer."

The buses are sponsored by Vodka Kick and painted in bright colours.

Mr Clarke added: "The report had suggested a levy on each nightclub to provide extra bus services.

"We decided to take the initiative ourselves and provide a bus instead!

"Sadly, there's always a risk of disorder with alcohol and we hope that the bus will go a long way to reducing that risk.

"We're hoping for a really fun and happy environment on the buses while at the same time giving something back to our customers and the local community."
