NIGHTCLUB Heaven and Hell will host a live band for the first time tonight.
Bosses at the Huddersfield club have given in to the massive demand for a large live music venue in the town, even though the venue is known for dance beat and chart music.
Huddersfield Heaven and Hell manager Jim McIntyre said: "There is a thriving and vibrant music scene in Huddersfield and I thought it would be really exciting for us to get involved.
"There was clearly a niche in the market."
Hannah Quarmby, a music promoter, approached Heaven and Hell with the idea.
She said: "I do think a venue like this could make its mark this way.
"Everyone has said it has been a long time coming so let's hope they get behind it now."
Heaven and Hell is putting on two live gig nights each week, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays featuring local indie, rock and metal bands.
Tonight is Barnsley group Lycasleep and tomorrow is Calderdale band Serotonin.
