BINGO jackpots at a Newsome club have just shot up to £25,000.

The large cash prizes are part of the new National Flyer and Giant Snowball games, which Newsome WMC was invited to join.

The games work by linking up thousands of players in hundreds of clubs around the country on TV.

The National Flyer games take place on a Wednesday evening and the Snowball is scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The first game at the St John's Avenue club takes place at 9.30pm tonight.

Club secretary Andy Duffy said: "Our members are enthusiastic bingo players and this will give them the chance to win big money playing their favourite game."

There are about 1,500 members at Newsome WMC.

Jeremy Collis, managing director of Network Gaming, who run the games and TV network, said: "Newsome WMC is a really sociable and well-managed club. I'm delighted they will be joining.

"We have clubs playing all over the country and so I'm pleased that a substantial local club will now have a chance to win the large cash prizes."
