A WEEKEND of fundraising will raise cash for Kirkwood Hospice and a village football club.

The events will be centred at the Spangled Bull pub at Bankfield Lane, Kirkheaton.

The proceeds will be split between the hospice in Dalton and Kirkheaton Rangers.

There will be a race night at the pub on Friday at 8pm followed on Saturday night with a 60s-style disco – so revellers should come in fancy dress.

The event will also feature a raffle.

On Sunday there will be a car boot sale at the pub at £5 a pitch.

There will also be a tombola, cake stalls and a darts marathon.

The car boot sale starts at 9am and the day will be rounded off with karaoke at the pub.

On Bank Holiday Monday, Kirkheaton Rangers have challenged people to play them at three-legged football.

This will take place at the cricket pitch at Bankfield Lane in Kirkheaton from 10.30am.

Anyone wanting a pitch for the car boot sale or to take part in the football should contact Emma Coleman on 01484 480204.
