FIREFIGHTERS raced to stop a blaze at a portable building spreading to a coach depot in Batley.

Crews from Batley and Dewsbury Green Watch were called to Safeway Coaches in Alexandra Road, after an oil drum caught light under the disused building.

The fire broke out at around 7.06pm last night and crews spent more than three hours bringing it under control.

No one was injured and the blaze was contained to the one building. A full investigation to establish the cause of the fire will now be carried out.
