POLICE have seized a major drugs haul in Huddersfield.

Officers from Kirklees Drugs and Gun Crime Team raided a house in Waterloo at 8.15am yesterday and found suspected crack cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of £11,000.

A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested, interviewed and released on bail, pending the results of forensic analysis.

Police have revealed they acted after getting anonymous information through Crimestoppers.

Sgt Damian Roebuck from Kirklees Drugs and Gun Crime Team said: "We received the information late on Wednesday evening. Officers were granted an out-of-hours search warrant by magistrates and as a result, the warrant was executed first thing this morning.

"This is a significant seizure and shows our commitment to acting on all actionable intelligence received. I would urge anybody with information about anyone who is storing Class A drugs to contact us.”
