PEOPLE in Huddersfield raised £271.81 for The Children’s Society as a result of a collection at Tesco last week organised to help disadvantaged children in the UK.

Jodie Smith, a volunteer said: “It was great fun doing the collection. Everyone was so friendly and lots of people stopped to talk, and to find out more about what The Childrens Society do.”

Shelagh Hopkinson said: “The fantastic amount of money could pay for basic provisions such as warm clothing, blankets and toiletries for 18 homeless young people – a thought that was very much with us on the cold days we were collecting.”

The Children’s Society is a charity that supports and rescues disadvantaged children in the UK.
