VISITORS got hands-on with creatures great and small.

They were among the scores of curious people who turned up at Kirklees College’s animal care centre in Taylor Hill on Saturday.

The annual open day has become a hugely-popular event with families and would-be students.

Guests met birds, mammals and reptiles, including lizards, snakes, tortoises, goats and parrots at the campus’s opening day.

The event also included face painting and an animal quiz.
