TWO men who were seriously injured in an accident on a busy Huddersfield road are recovering.
Fasil Iqbal, 24, was in collision with a motorcycle on Bradford Road at Fartown on July 23.
He was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with a broken leg, broken pelvis and internal injuries.
Mr Iqbal’s mother, Gulmar, said yesterday that her son was recovering.
She added: “He’s a bit better now and he’s in a stable condition. He’s conscious and able to speak, but he isn’t able to stand.”
The Fartown man is unemployed and has three sisters and a brother.
He is believed to have been crossing the Huddersfield-bound dual carriageway from the central reservation when the accident happened.
The rider, a 31-year-old from Almondbury who has not been named, was flung from his machine.
He suffered multiple injuries, including severe grazing to his back and arms.
He was transferred from Huddersfield Royal Infirmary to Hope Hospital in Manchester for specialist neurological care.
His condition is improving and his life is no longer in danger.
