ARE you tough enough for a 30-mile bike ride?

The 6th annual Colne Valley Mountain Bike Challenge is back.

Organisers are inviting keen mountain bikers to join them for the fund-raising ride through the hills and valleys.

Jonathan Brook said the money raised from the bike ride would be going to Leymoor Cricket Club and the 39th Parkwood Scouts at Golcar.

It takes place on Sunday May 10, starting at 9am.

Jonathan said: “It’s a tough personal challenge for many mountain bikers.

“It’s 30 miles and it could be they want to beat last year’s time or set themselves a personal best.

“We get people from all over the country taking part, we’ve already had entries from Leicester, all along the M62 corridor and from Grimsby to Preston and Scotland.”

The 30-mile route is a mixture of demanding off- road terrain, local roads and countryside lanes and takes in Longwood, Outlane, Scapegoat Hill, Pole Moor, Slaithwaite, Marsden, Meltham, Linthwaite and Golcar.

Money raised keeps the cricket club going and also funds trips for the Scouts.
