THEY are celebrating all things Yorkshire.

Colne Valley Garden Centre is honouring Tykes’ heritage on Saturday to raise money for Kirkwood Hospice in Dalton.

Pony rides, face painting, Punch and Judy, and traditional fayre with homemade crafts are just a few of the Yorkshire treats.

And a pet show is open to anyone. Entries will be welcome on the day.

There will be a children’s zumba class from 11am, a belly dancing workshop at 1pm followed by a show at 2.30pm.

Money raised will go towards the £3m Capital Appeal for the renovation of the inpatient ward at the hospice. The revamp comes as part of the hospice’s 25th anniversary.

Community fundraiser for the hospice Mandy Barwick will be lending a hand on the day alongside a host of other hospice volunteers.

Colne Valley Garden Centre – in Scar Lane, between Golcar and Milnsbridge – was established 20 years ago and since 2000, the business has been owned by the Walker family.

The event begins at 11am.
