THE Labour candidate bidding to succeed Kali Mountford as Colne Valley MP has vowed to publish her expenses every month.

Debbie Abrahams said she was making a pledge for democratic accountability.

And if elected, she vowed to publish her expenses every month, in response to the current row over MPs’ expenses.

Mrs Abrahams, who is married to former Lancashire cricketer John Abrahams, was selected last month from an all-woman shortlist to contest the seat as Ms Mountford is stepping down.

She is director of a public health unit and has chaired a Primary Care NHS Trust in Lancashire.

She said: "As Colne Valley’s MP I would work with you and for you, supporting the interests of my constituents in every way I can.

"I went into politics because I believe I can make the biggest difference. I see it as a natural progression to the public service work I have been doing."
