A COLOURFUL event was held to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
To mark the Year of the Rabbit, the Huddersfield Chinese Community Centre (HCCC) gave locals the chance experience a taste of their culture.
Families enjoyed the variety of activities on offer during the day at Brian Jackson House, on New North Parade.
The celebrations kicked off with a Chinese lion dance.
There was also a Chinese children’s music and dance performance, martial arts demonstration, children’s magic show, Chinese calligraphy, a food stall and arts and crafts.
The HCCC is a charity organisation which aims to promote the town’s vibrant Chinese community and help improve their quality of life.
