STARS from Last Of The Summer Wine visited a special exhibition in their honour.

The cast members, along with producer Alan J W Bell and writer Roy Clarke, were guests at the Colour Museum in Bradford.

The award-winning museum is hosting an exhibition called Colourful Characters, Colourful County which charts the history of the amazingly successful TV comedy.

Actors who turned up at the museum included Peter Sallis, who plays Clegg, Frank Thornton, Truly, and Bert Kwouk, Entwhistle.

Items in the exhibition include an outfit worn by the late Bill Owen as the character, Compo, a bike ridden by the lovelorn Marina, played by Jean Fergusson, and the Swan from The Swan Man episode.

There are also many photographs of filming in and around Holmfirth and of guest stars who have appeared in the programme's 33-year history. The show runs until Christmas at the museum, in a former wool warehouse in the centre of Bradford, which is run by the Society of Dyers and Colourists.

It looks at people working with colour - be it in fashion, design, retail or science.

Its premises, in Providence Street, Bradford, include two galleries, fully accessible to disabled people. For further information, visit www.sdc.org.uk or ring 01274 390955.
