HARASSED shoppers can take up a free Christmas gift wrapping offer tomorrow.

Members of the Paddock-based Community Church will be on hand to help as part of their Christmas on the Streets event.

The gift wrapping service will run from noon until 3pm at Nelson Mandela Corner.

There will also be children’s activities and refreshments – while a ‘flash mob’ choir will be popping up at 10 surprise locations in the town centre during the day to sing carols.

Event organiser Ruth Lush said: “We have done many Christmas events in our building over the years.

“This year we realised if we want to be Community Church, the best thing to do is to get out in to the community and help people with a really practical thing – wrapping their presents!”

Brendan Cosgrove, leader of the Community Church, which is based at the Jubilee Centre, Paddock, said: “We want to help make people’s Christmas preparations go that little bit smoother. It should be a fun time for everyone”.
