YOUR compact Examiner is one year old today. And what an action-packed 12 months we've had!

We're celebrating our landmark with a look at some of the most dramatic, celebratory and poignant front pages from the past year.

We love our smaller-size paper for its handy handling and modern good looks.

We always make sure we have an abundance of news pages inside the paper, so we can literally hold the front page for our very biggest stories.

In our old broadsheet days, the front cover was cluttered with a handful of news items. Nowadays we put the focus on just one - for maximum impact.

That means we can showcase our best pictures and sharpest reporting like never before.

It's not always local stories that hit the front pages. for example, we were among the first of the country's media to announce Charles and Camilla's plans to marry.

When news broke - completely unexpectedly - during the morning of February 10, we quickly re-shuffled our front page to share the happy, exciting news.

And we even managed to fit in a feature about the couple's three-decade romance on page six.

Our big re-launch came and went, but that doesn't mean the Examiner you see today is set in stone from now on. We had our revolution. Now we're looking at a constant evolution.

We want to get better all the time, and to do it we need your help. However much we like our newspaper, what really counts is what YOU think of it.

W're always listening, and We're always open to new ideas and suggestions.

So please get in touch if you have something to say. You can write to the Examiner's Head Of Content, Jenny Parkin, email her at jenny.parkin@examiner.co.uk or call 01484 430000.
