PLANS for a pharmacy at a Brighouse surgery will be reviewed next week.

The Church Lane Surgery wants to expand to form a ground floor pharmacy.

But it will go before Tuesday’s planning committee after concerns were raised by nearby residents.

Three letters of objection and a petition were submitted to Calderdale Council with objectors saying that there is already a pharmacy across the road, which serves both the Church Lane Surgery and adjacent Rydings Hall Surgery.

Concerns were also raised about more parking on Church Lane.

Calderdale’s Highways officers said in a report that “although there would be a shortfall on parking, the reduction of car parking by the infill extension would not be on such a scale as to justify refusal.”

The application was minded for approval but will be decided by councillors.
