AN ANNUAL charity concert has raised more than £2,000 for a local good cause.

The annual Sellers Travel Christmas Concert has raised a total of £47,000 since 1992.

This year the concert, at Dewsbury Town Hall on December 18, managed to amass £2,350.

Sellers International Band performed at the show along with Honley Ladies' Choir.

The money was donated to the St James's Hospital Kidney Patients' Association.

The charity also provides kidney care such as dialysis at St Luke's in Huddersfield.

Sellers Travel chairman David Armitage said he was delighted that the company could help good causes.

He added: "With just our Christmas concerts alone we have raised nearly £50,000 since 1992.

"We have supported great causes such as Yorkshire Cancer Research, Kirkwood Hospice, the Breast Clinic Appeal and many others.

"It is a privilege to make a difference to the community with the help of local people."
