WE have had several people from the Flockton area who have told us about problems with off-road motorcycles, either being ridden in woods and farmers fields.
It has been causing damage and destruction to the fields, plus there has also been reports of bikes on residential streets.
Not only is this extremely dangerous, it’s also illegal.
Because of these concerns we got together with the Kirklees Police Off-Road Motorcycle Team, who patrolled the ‘hotspot areas’ the residents told us about.
Last weekend four riders were given Section 59 warnings about the anti-social use of their bikes, and one bike was seized.
But this was not a one off.
The motorcycle team will be back over the coming weekends and whenever we get new information.
Our thanks go to all the local residents who helped us by providing information and to PC Sharon Gunson who organised the operation.
And if people do have any information that can help us get these bikes off the road then please contact us on 0845 6060606.
