SHOPLIFTING is a petty crime, but the costs can add up for retailers who work hard to keep their businesses afloat.

These three men are wanted for questioning in connection with three separate incidents at retailers in and around Huddersfield last week.

The first incident saw £70-worth of men’s and children’s clothing taken from Peters of Huddersfield on Kings Street late last Monday morning.

The suspect ran off with the clothes in a bag after a customer saw him and alerted staff.

Pc Cheryl Sykes is the officer investigating this case. She can be contacted via the numbers below.

In the second incident, a man walked into Tesco, on Viaduct Street, at about 10am on Thursday.

After going to the alcohol section of the shop, he took bottles from the shelf and carried them out of the store. After setting off the alarm, he ran off towards Lower Fitzwilliam Street.

The man got away with a £25 bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey.

Pc Matt Forbes is investigating this case.

The third picture is of a man wanted in connection with the theft of items from a shop in the Kingsgate Centre on the same day.

At about 5pm on Thursday, a man walked into the Officers Club.

He picked up six jumpers worth about £60 in total and walked out with them bundled under his arm.

Anyone with information about this case should call Pc Kirsty Wright.

To contact her, or either of the officers dealing with the other two cases, call 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers, confidentially, on 0800 555111.
