AN elderly woman was robbed by two bullying tricksters pretending to be gardeners.

She answered the door to her home on Ravens Lodge Terrace in the Scout Hill area of Dewsbury after hearing a loud bang.

A man outside offered to do some gardening work for £30, but when she kept refusing his repeated requests, he grabbed hold of teh 79-year-old and pushed her against the wall in her hallway.

An accomplice then went into the house and stole cash from a handbag in her lounge.

The thieves then fled and sped off in a white van.

The robbery happened at around 2.45pm last Wednesday, but police have only just released details and an appeal for help.

The victim was left shaken, but otherwise unhurt.

Both thieves are Asian men around 5ft 4in tall.

The one who grabbed the victim is in his late 20s and stocky with short, dark hair. He wore a blue checked short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
