A POST Office campaigner has been selected to contest a council seat for the Conservatives.
Donna Bellamy helped organise a petition against the closure of Holmbridge Post Office in 2008. The post office was run by her parents and closed in November that year.
The Marsden woman will contest the Colne Valley seat for the Conservatives at the Kirklees Council elections on May 6.
Mrs Bellamy said: “I think we need a change here in Colne Valley and as someone who commutes to Holmfirth every day for work I know we need to get the gritting situation and the roads sorted out.
“Road safety on Manchester Road is another huge issue.”.”
