CHILDREN have been urged to take part in a poster contest as part of a national tree-planting campaign.

The campaign by Cartridge World, a company which refills old printer cartridges, is called Why Trees Are Important To The Environment.

The posters must show the importance of trees and why it is vital to keep planting them.

The posters will be judged in three categories: four to six- year-olds, seven to 10- year-olds and 11 to 13-year-olds.

They will be judged by a panel including Cartridge World staff and members of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce.

Each category winner will be given a digital camera and colour copier for their school, plus a framed copy of the winning poster to be displayed at their local Cartridge World store.

The Huddersfield store is on John William Street.

The closing date is April 11 and for an application form go to the website www. cartridgeworld.org or phone Kate Conway on 0113 242 1155.
