BAD girl Kylie Platt is usually causing havoc on Coronation Street.

But actor Paula Lane – who plays Kylie in the hit soap – was at Hollybank Trust in Mirfield yesterday for a very good cause.

The former Huddersfield Technical College student officially opened the Roe Head Trust’s exciting new development, The Meadows.

Hollybank Trust cares for children, young people and adults with profound disabilities.

And The Meadows, which comprises stunning new accommodation blocks, will house 24 adults and six children with profound disabilities who need 24-hour care. More than 100 invited guests – including future residents and their families – came to see the state-of-the-art facilities which have stunning views out towards the Pennines.

Hollybank Trust’s chief executive Pam King said: “Paula was really, really positive. She came with her mum and looked around the new facilities for an hour-and-a-half.

“She said how pleased she was to open it and what a lovely place it was and she already knew a few bits about Hollybank. She used to go to Huddersfield Technical College and her dad lives in Lindley.”

Chris Coleby, head of property and development at the Trust, oversaw the design of the three blocks. Each building has a large lounge and dining area, assisted bathroom and kitchen and laundry room.
