A COUNCILLOR has promised to make sure Castle Hill stays litter-free.
The hotel on top of the Almondbury landmark is being rebuilt.
But concern was expressed at Kirklees Council's Huddersfield area sub-committee that the land around the building would be neglected
A woman member of the public told the meeting she was worried about disabled access and toilet cleaning.
A £750,000 lottery grant is to be used on landscaping, footpath repairs and toilets.
"Who is going to look after cleaning the toilets and picking up the litter?" the woman asked.
"The local residents have been very concerned about it," she added.
Council deputy leader Clr John Smithson said there would be a full-time warden for Castle Hill from April 1 and he or she would make sure the litter was collected.
