ONE house could be demolished to make way for 10 new homes.
Kirklees councillors will be asked to consider an application to demolish one property and a garage at 11 Hallas Road, Kirkburton.
The applicant, Worth Homes (Yorkshire) Limited, wants permission for three detached, four semi-detached and three terraced homes on the property’s wider land.
In total 43 letters of objection were submitted with people saying the size of site will struggle to accommodate 10 dwellings and raising issues about more traffic on Hallas Road.
Kirkburton Parish Council also objected on highway grounds. They also said there was insufficient school places and access to health centres.
Two previous applications for the site were withdrawn and refused.
Council officers have recommended it for approval as the development would contribute towards the delivery of much-needed housing. It will be considered at 1pm on Thursday at Dewsbury Town Hall.
