OVER 1,000 Kirklees businesses will be contacted about their concerns and priorities for the future.

Over next few weeks Kirklees Council will be undertaking the largest employer survey ever carried out in the district to understand local businesses’ needs.

The results will give the council up to date information and in depth knowledge to make sure that future regeneration, businesses development and investment is in line with local businesses’s needs.

Some, 400 local businesses across Kirklees will be interviewed over a three-week period starting on Monday.

This will be followed up by a series of in-depth sessions with businesses in the seven localities of Batley, Birstall and Birkenshaw; Denby Dale and Kirkburton; Dewsbury and Mirfield; Huddersfield North; Huddersfield South; Spen; and the Valleys to gain a representative picture of local business needs. The results of the survey will be shared with businesses in June.

Clr Ken Sims, Cabinet member for Regeneration, said: “We are urging businesses to take time to contribute.”
