Norman and Dorothy Wrigley, of Mount Road, were married in March 1959 after being introduced by a friend two years earlier.

Mr Wrigley worked in the textile industry all his life, starting as a woolscouring apprentice at J Bailly Ancion in Marsden in 1949. He remained at the firm until it closed down and rose to become senior scouring foreman.

Mrs Wrigley also worked in the textile industry, holding jobs in several mills in the Saddleworth area before moving to Marsden after her wedding.

The couple have two grown up sons and a grandson.

Mr Wrigley enjoys gardening while his wife is a keen baker and also enjoys keep fit classes.
