A WOMAN has been charged with murdering her two-year-old daughter in Huddersfield.

Zahbeena Navsarka and her partner, Subhan Anwar, appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

The pair, who are both 21, had already been accused of other charges in relation to the death of two-year-old Sanam Navsarka on May 8. They deny all the charges..

The three lived at Riddings Road in Sheepridge. Navsarka and Anwar had previously been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent along with a separate charge of child neglect.

The case has been investigated by West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide And Major Inquiry Team after paramedics were called to the house late on May 8 this year. Sanam was pronounced dead at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary at 11.30pm that night.

Anwar and Navsarka both appeared before Huddersfield Magistrates on May 13.

Navsarka and Anwar have been remanded in custody awaiting trial.

Police had urged anyone who has any information about the case to contact them.
