A MIDDLE-aged couple's kinky late-night romp ended in a hospital casualty department.

A Brighouse man in his 50s slipped the metal ring from a key ring on himself during their lovemaking.

But he ended up in pain and humiliation when he was unable to prise the ring off.

The man sought help at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Staff in the casualty department have a special serrated disc to cut gold rings from fingers.

But the man's agony went on when the ring proved too tough and blunted the saw.

His humiliation was complete when medical staff called in firefighters at 2.45am today.

Leading Firefighter Paul Mellor, of Elland fire station, said: "In the end we used a junior hacksaw to cut the ring off.

"We had to be very careful.

"It's one of those jobs we'll never forget," he added.
