PEOPLE are being urged to sign up for a free course aimed at saving children’s lives.
Community leaders, children’s centre staff, childminders and volunteers working with families are asked to take advantage of the training set up by Huddersfield-based charity Brake.
It is being held on Monday, May 12, at 9.30am at NCH Wheatley Children’s Centre, Doncaster.
The Stay Safe Family Promise covers topics including correctly restraining children in vehicles, safe driving and keeping children safe while walking and cycling.
Everyone who attends will receive free resources and ongoing telephone support from Brake.
A child is killed or seriously injured every 18 minutes on UK roads.
Six children are killed or seriously injured every week while walking or cycling in Yorkshire and Humberside.
